a newcomer to the Chety family, the Clos du Piat is a
vintage from the vines that Christophe acquired at the
beginning of the year of the first vintage, 1999. It is
the renaissance of a vintage small in size but already
big in quality. It resembles in that the "little
lad" who gave it its nickname, the Cuvée Louis,
that is Christophe's son, born in October 1999 - already
big for his age

and blackcurrant form a nuance of liquorice very finely
wooded. The attack is already fleshy and it is in the

Very rich and complex its final is an exceptional length.
Its tannins are well established. It merits keeping a
long time, those who are the most patient will be rewarded.

deep garnet colour. A powerful nose, with traces of woodiness,
soft fruit, blackcurrant and cherry. The rich initial
taste highlights all the velvety smoothness of the ripe
Merlot. Opulent and full-bodied on the palate, revealing
all its still somewhat secretive but powerful aromas.
